Milan to sink Sampdoria cup dream

With the round of 16 fast approaching, the Coppa Italia is starting to spice up and AC Milan will fancy their chances of progressing to the quarter finals, as they prepare to visit Sampdoria on Saturday.

Rossoneri to continue winning run

Gennaro Gattuso’s side had been on a difficult winless run, but managed to get back to winning ways in their last outing with a 2-1 victory against SPAL. Milan have enjoyed back-to-back wins over Sampdoria in their last two meetings, with the Rossoneri securing a 3-2 victory in Serie A back in October. The last time these two met in the Coppa Italia was at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in December 2015, with the Rossoneri securing a 2-0 win on the road. It might not be as comfortable as that this weekend, but Milan should have the strike power to get the job done and continue their cup
journey. The 2.45 for a Milan victory on the road looks a tempting one, as they look for their third successive victory against Samp.

Juve to bang in the goals at Bologna

Juventus appear to have had the sign over Bologna in recent years and that is fully expected to continue on Saturday, when the Old Lady make the trip to Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. You have to go back eight years for Bologna’s last victory against Juve and since then they have failed to beat the Serie A champions on 14 occasions. Recent results certainly don’t make pretty reading for the Bologna faithful. In their last seven meetings, Juve have won six and drawn one, scoring a total of 16 goals to Bologna’s three. This could well be another high-scoring affair, especially considering Juventus are flying at the top of the Serie A table and remain unbeaten in the league. Max Allegri’s men will be raring to go after the New Year break and Bologna could find themselves heading for another heavy defeat. Juve with -1 on the handicap are at 1.95, but the braver punters might go for the -2 at 3.55. In their last five meetings, Juventus have put three goals past Bologna on three occasions, so if they can avoid any mistakes at the back, a 3-0 scoreline looks a realistic option.

La Viola can handle the Bulls

Moving on to Sunday’s action in the Coppa Italia and Fiorentina will be looking to keep up their own strong record against Torino. There’s been just one defeat for La Viola in their last six meetings against I Granata and although these two have played many tightly-fought encounters, its Fiorentina that have edged things more often than not. It’s from Fiorentina’s strong defence that they have managed to concede only two goals in their last four outings. Nikola Milenkovic has been attracting plenty of interest with his performances in Serie A this season, with Manchester United thought to be eager to sign the talented centre-back. With the likes of Everton loanee Kevin Mirallas and rising Argentina star Giovanni Simeone in attack, Fiorentina look like they should continue their good form against a Torino side who have just one win in their last five outings. La Viola certainly look a good price of 2.90 to win on the road and progress through to the Coppa Italia quarter-final stages.

Inter edging towards former self

There have been big changes at Inter in recent years and now the Nerazzurri look like they could be edging back towards a side that can start challenging the mighty Juve for silverware.
Big names are once again being linked with the Italian giants and the squad look like they could start achieving things domestically. Inter’s next obstacle should not be a difficult one, as they prepare to host Serie B outfit Benevento on Sunday. Sat down in sixth place in the second tier, it does not look like the Sorcerers will be making a return back to the Italian top flight any time in the near future.
Even if Inter decide to make a host of changes, they should still have the depth in their current squad to be able to breeze past Benevento this weekend.
Simply looking at the total goals market, the 2.15 for over 3.5 goals looks attractive, in what should be a straightforward afternoon for the Nerazzuri.
