Have the edge on your Premier league team – Fantasy Sports

It is even more important than usual to make the right picks this round, as the guarantee for the €11 main event just got upped to €25,000! The gameweek also includes a great meeting between Tottenham and Manchester United.

The London derby between West Ham and Arsenal is kicking off the round as the early match on Saturday, so it is not included in the big weekend tournaments. However, there is a €750 GTD five-a-side to keep yourselves entertained, while you are waiting for the main event.

In order to put yourself in a good spot to win the €2,500 first prize in the €11 buy-in, you may have to take a stance in the wide-open, and very important match for a place in the top four, between Tottenham and Manchester United. A month ago, Tottenham would have been very clear favourites in such a match, but United have been transformed since Mourinho left, so we are not sure how this will end. Yes, Tottenham seems to have the best winning chance, but anything can happen here. It should be a fun match to watch, with two attacking teams.

Salah for captain

We like MOHAMED SALAH (14.9M) for captain this week. Liverpool travel to Brighton, and we expect them to return to winning ways after losing the extremely important match against Manchester City. It should be noted that Brighton’s form is looking very good, but Liverpool still should be too much to handle. Salah is the third best player in the game if we look at the recent form index, which can be found in the table when you create your team. Salah’s number is 8.8, which is very high. HEUNG-MIN SON (11.0M) and PAUL POGBA (9.6M) are the only ones with higher recent form. As we know, those two both have a tough fixture this round, as they are facing each other. By the way, this is the last match for Son, before he travels to the Asian Games.

Burnley in the bargain bin

Burnley could be a nice target if you are looking for some moderately priced players. In attack, there is 19-year old DWIGHT MCNEIL (6.3M), who has been on fire since he began starting for Burnley a few matches back. One goal and assist in 262 minutes on the field is not too bad, and Burnley has a very nice fixture, hosting Fulham. Although they have been shaky in defence this season, Burnley look to be improving, even though the win over Huddersfield partially was a consequence of playing 11 vs 10 for a long time. We like JAMES TARKOWSKI (6.8M) for goal threat on corners, while PHIL BARDSLEY (6.2M) is a nice low-priced alternative. In goal, TOM HEATON (7.6M) seems to have replaced Joe Hart for now.

Pick Vardy, skip Maddison

It looks like the brief improvement in form for Southampton has passed. Admittedly, they managed to get a point against Chelsea, but they were under pressure for most of the match, and were lucky not to lose by several goals. The downturn started with the unexpected home loss to West Ham, and we have not really seen any indications since then that they are going to gather many points in the near future. Leicester, on the other hand, have beaten Chelsea, Manchester City and most recently, Everton – which is a very impressive record. There was some luck involved in those wins, but Leicester still looks good. They are at seventh place in the league right now, and they could be able to keep that place for the rest of the season. As usual, JAMIE VARDY (10.6M) is the Leicester player we turn to first. He scored the winning goal against Everton, after a sweet one-touch pass from RICARDO PEREIRA (8.2M), who in turn took advantage of a bad miss from Everton defender Keane. Vardy ran with the ball, and put the ball behind Pickford from 10 meter. Vardy looks to be in good form, while the other key Leicester player JAMES MADDISON (9.6M) sat on the bench for the whole match and has not scored since December 5th. Pereira is however interesting, even though he plays wingback now as Amartey is on the injury list. Pereira still goes on offensive runs, and should be the first one on your list if you are in the market for Leicester defenders.

Chelsea looks like a safe bet for defence

It is perhaps not very original, but in defence, we recommend Chelsea players for this round. The team is in good form, but they struggle to score. Much of that is because they have a real problem with the strikers. Morata and Giroud are just not good enough for a club of Chelsea’s calibre. Morata confirmed that once again when missing on open goal from 1 meter in the FA Cup encounter with Nottingham Forest. Paradoxically, he scored twice in that match. We still feel that a striker on this level just cannot miss on such a chance. Regardless, Morata is doubtful for the Saturday late match against Newcastle due to a thigh injury. The good news for Chelsea is that the defence is working well, and the good news for fantasy players is that the four at the back all looks nailed on. There is just extremely little rotation in those spots when Chelsea are playing Premier League matches. ANTONIO RUDIGER (10.3M) looks like perhaps the best buy, but it is hard to bypass MARCOS ALONSO (11.6M), who is still the most offensive player in the Chelsea defense. DAVID LUIZ (10.9M) has gotten good remarks lately.
