NBA Preview 5-7/11

Los Angeles Lakers haven’t made the best of starts to life with LeBron James on their roster and they face a big test against Toronto Raptors.

Raptors can raid LA (Nov 5, 02.30am)

The Raptors have picked up wins over the likes of Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers already this season and look genuine contenders for Eastern Conference glory – and possibly even a shot at the Championship.

Toronto are 2.75 to win the Eastern Conference and 11.00 to go all the way and win the NBA Championship, and they can back up their credentials with a win over LeBron’s Lakers.

Magic to add to Cavs misery (Nov 6, 00.00am)

Orlando Magic are unlikely to challenge for a post-season spot but they can stay above Cleveland by seeing off the visiting Cavaliers.

The Cavs haven’t even come close on the road so far and with Kevin Love still absent, they could well be there for the taking.

Home comforts key for Clippers (Nov 6, 03.30am)

Los Angeles Clippers entertain Minnesota Timberwolves in what looks like a home banker.

The Wolves home form has been excellent but they’ve been woeful on the road and the Clippers have already beaten Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder at the Staples Center this term.

Minnesota did win four straight games at the Clippers but the hosts reversed that trend last season and can make in back-to-back wins over their Western Conference rivals.

Hornets to outgun Hawks (Nov 7, 00.00am)

Charlotte Hornets, who look good value at 4.20 to win the Southeast Division, look candidates for a play-off place in the Eastern Conference and if they are to join the post-season party their home form will be key.

The Hornets entertain division rivals Atlanta Hawks and should be able to win fairly comfortably, against a side who could end up as the bottom team in the Eastern Conference.
