Serie A Preview (Oct 20+21)

The Derby della Madonnina is without doubt the biggest game of the weekend in Serie A, with AC Milan slightly more in need of the points than city rivals Internazionale.

The Rossoneri are currently down in tenth place in the league standings, but have not been beaten since the opening game of the campaign, when they lost out 3-2 away at Napoli.

Higuain beginning to fire

Summer signing Gonzalo Higuain has started to show the goalscoring form which made him a big hit at both Napoli and Juventus, with the Argentina frontman having scored six goals in his last five outings in all competitions.

He is 2.50 to score at any time against Inter on Sunday evening and the Rossoneri know that they need to get Higuain involved if they are to come out on top.

Inter tough to beat

Inter, meanwhile, cannot be taken lightly as they have won six consecutive games in all competitions, with five of those victories coming by a one-goal margin.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri to win by one goal at 3.85 could well take your fancy, especially when you consider that they have only scored 12 Serie A goals in eight games so far this season – despite being third in the table ahead of the weekend action.

A day before the San Siro clash takes centre stage, league leaders Juventus defend their 100 per cent record when they welcome Genoa to Turin.

Juve aim to stay perfect

Juve have won all ten matches they have played so far this season in all competitions, with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo appearing to be paying off already.

However, it is their more traditional defensive strength which continues to be the bedrock of La Vecchia Signora’s success, with Juve having only conceded one goal in their last six outings – all of which have been won by at least a two-goal margin.

Therefore a home win to zero at 1.80 could offer a modest return, while Juventus to triumph by a two-goal margin at 3.65 also holds plenty of appeal.

It will also be interesting to see how Genoa strike sensation Krzysztof Piatek gets on , as he looks to add to his impressive tally of nine goals in seven Serie A games so far this season.

Napoli have to keep pace

Napoli are the nearest challengers to Juve presently, already six points adrift of the defending champions, meaning a tricky trip to Udinese on Saturday could already be something of a must-win.

The Partenopei have won all five of their most recent meetings with the Zebrette and have scored inside the first ten minutes in each of their last four Serie A matches.

Therefore, a goal to be scored inside the first 15 minutes at 3.20 would seem to be something to consider strongly.
