Juventus vs Milan – Super Cup Final Italy

Juve set for Super win

The 31st Supercoppa Italiana takes place on Wednesday evening and for the second time in three years, Juventus will take on AC Milan.

In the Saudi city of Jeddah – The Kingdom becoming the sixth nation to host the annual fixture – the pair will fight it out to edge ahead in their duel to be the competition’s most successful side, with them currently sharing the record of seven titles.

Juve the ones to beat

After completing a fourth straight domestic double, the Bianconeri are the 1.55 favourites heading into the game but have a poor record in this fixture, losing three of the last four Supercoppas.

However, Massimiliano Allegri’s men are unbeaten domestically this season and have won on the last six occasions these sides have met.

All not well for Milan

In fact, Milan’s last win over Juve came as they defeated them in this game in December 2016, coming out on top in a penalty shoot-out.

Gennaro Gattuso has again found his future in question in recent months and with striker Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan from Juventus, admitting he wants to leave, ‘Rino’ seems to have a tough job on his hands.

Winning on Wednesday would provide a timely boost and his side can be backed at 6.60, while the draw is 4.00.

Goals an issue for Milan

Gattuso won this competition twice during his playing days, including in 2011 when he captained opposite number Allegri’s Milan side to victory.

The 41-year-old has earned admiration for the spirit in which he has tackled a job which has befouled far more experienced coaches, but will be concerned that his team have scored only once in his three meetings against the Bianconeri.

A ‘no’ on both teams to score is a touch skinny at 1.66 and punters may instead prefer the 2.15 for Juventus win to zero.
